Adult Education

The purpose of our Adult Education program is to develop and implement an effective program of religious education and spiritual awareness through instruction, inspiration, worship and creative expression. We currently have four active Bible Studies groups, with sessions held both during the day and in the evenings.
We also have Special Seasonal Studies/Services.
- Wednesday evenings, 7:00 – 7:45 in the Sanctuary, Advent series of four services leading up to Christmas, including hymns, scriptures, and special readings or presentations.
- Wednesday evenings, 7:00 – 7:45 in the Sanctuary, Lenten series of about six services leading up to Easter, including hymns, scriptures, and special readings or presentations
In addition, each year in February, White Bluff Chapel sponsors a retreat with a special invited Bible scholar who is widely-known for excellence in teaching. Participants meet Friday evening for coffee and dessert and to kick off the first two hours of the study. Then the Saturday session runs from 10:00 – 3:00, with a group lunch providing a break for relaxed fellowship among the participants and leader. The invited scholar/study leader remains at White Bluff Chapel through Sunday to lead our Sunday worship with the entire congregation.
Our Adult Education program follows the following general guidelines:
- Offer opportunities which expand members' knowledge and understanding of the Bible and how to live as disciples of Jesus Christ.
- Encourage and support the principle: in essentials, unity; in opinions, liberty; and in all things, charity.
- Provide a variety of educational experiences to serve and minister to the Chapel's denominational complexity.
- Provide members opportunities to identify, develop and use their spiritual gifts in fulfilling the purpose of the Chapel through worship, study, relationship building and in a variety of ministries.
- Continually emphasize fostering and providing leadership development for the congregation.
