Music Ministry

Music plays a major role in the Chapel's worship service, whether it is through congregational singing or special music, by the choir or by soloists. Under Music Director Tom Reedy, the choir maintains as its goal to provide a contribution to the worship service which enables the congregants to prepare for the sermon through music. This would be an impossible task without the assistance of Kathy Ward and Betty Newman, accompanists, who also provide background music for the offertory and prelude/postlude of the service.

The choir currently has forty-eight members. Although the choir area was originally established for thirty members, we have increased our space and there is always room for new members. The choir meets at 8:30 a.m. before the service in order to prepare for the Sunday morning worship service, and choir rehearsal is at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday evening. This is not a group of professional musicians; there are many currently in our group who do not read music but simply love to sing, along with other members with broad musical training and experience.

We have a warm fellowship within our choir family and feel fortunate to be among the White Bluff Community family, the White Bluff Chapel family and the Chapel Choir family. Our yearly social activity is our Christmas party when we meet for dinner and go caroling for those in our neighborhood dealing with health issues. If you are interested in joining the choir, please contact the church office.
