Sunday Service
The five steps below will walk you through your first Sunday visit with us.
Parking

- You'll find our parking lot spacious and close-up, with ample handicapped spaces available.
- In times of inclement weather or for people who need easy access, you can drive your car right up under the porte-cochère.
Entering the Chapel

- As you enter the foyer, you'll find church members greeting each other joyfully and enthusiastically. Be prepared to be greeted by them, as well.
- An usher will provide you with a bulletin and be happy to answer your questions.
- If you have children with you, the usher will explain how the children are dismissed at the Doxology to be greeted by their teachers and led to the Sunday school area.
- Your infants can be taken to the nursery for the entirety of the service, if you so choose.
Entering the Sanctuary
- As you enter the sanctuary, you may either ask the ushers to direct you to a seat or you may select your own.

- If you need to be fitted with hearing-enhancement equipment, the sound engineer at the sound booth to the left just inside the sanctuary will be prepared to accommodate your needs.
- A prelude of piano and/or organ music will set the tone for the worship service to begin.
The Service

- After the choir processes into the sanctuary and takes their seats, our Associate Pastor, Ann McAlpin, will greet the congregation with announcements.
- The choir begins with a choral call to worship to transition us into the solemnity of the worship hour.

- Our Christ-centered worship is classic in style, with prayer, scripture readings, a choir, and traditional hymns. Visitors are not singled-out during the service, and the only physical contact may be a hand-shake. Communion is offered on the first Sunday of the month.
- To listen to a typical Sunday sermon, visit our Sermons page.
Fellowship Afterwards

You are encouraged to adjourn immediately afterward to Fellowship Hall for coffee or juice and to chat with members of the congregation.
- You will find folks glad to tell you about our church community, activities and opportunities for involvement and service.

- There will be a "Welcome New Members and Visitors" table where you will be greeted and provided with all sorts of information of particular interest to newcomers, including the new member coffee.

- At the "Sign-up Table" you will see a hub of activity, where folks are signing up for "Dinners for 8", BBQ's, pot-luck suppers, excursions, tutoring projects in the schools, mission trips, food bank collection days, Christmas season bell-ringing, etc.
- Pastor Terry and Associate Pastor Ann will be milling around Fellowship Hall, available to chat with you or to invite you to their office for a more private conversation, as you see fit.
