Missions Committee

The purpose of the Missions Committee shall be to develop an effective program of local, global, national and educational outreach. Each will provide funding and service opportunities.

Responsibilities Administrative Policies and Procedures


  • Assess mission ministry proposals designated by the sub-committee chairpersons and recommended by the Mission Committee.
  • Enlist WBC members' participation in outreach activities and encourage a spirit of Christian giving through service.
  • Approve and coordinate all special mission events and offerings.
  • Communicate and support the Ministerial Alliance and its programs.
  • Provide leadership and education for WBC members concerning its three sub- committees.

  • The Chair for the Missions Committee is elected annually by the WBC membership in accordance with the procedures in Article 6.5 of the WBC By-Laws.
  • The Missions Committee shall include three sub-committees:  Local Missions, Global/ National Missions, and Educational Outreach.  Each sub-committee shall have a chair appointed by the Mission Committee chairperson.
  • The Missions Committee chairperson and the Pastor shall be ex-officio members of the sub-committees.  Additional members for the sub-committees shall be recruited as needed by the respective sub-committee chair.
  • The Mission Committee board shall be composed of the Mission Committee chairperson, the three sub-committees chairpersons, the Associate Pastor, and two members at large (appointed annually by the Chair).
  • Bring any committee policy, procedural, financial, or functional related issue(s) to the attention of the Board of Trustees for consideration.
  • Keep Office Administrator informed of plans for meetings, activities, or events.
  • Prepare and submit a budget request for the next fiscal year in accordance with the instructions and schedule provided by the Treasurer.
  • Committee Chair attends or sends representative to the Council of Ministries meetings.
  • The Pastor and the Chair of the Board of Trustees shall be ex-officio members of the committee.
